We are excited to introduce Bill Griscom as our new Director of Technology. With more than 20 years of experience in educational technology, Griscom brings a rare blend of technical expertise, leadership, and heart, qualities that align closely with our mission to support every student, every day.

Raised in West Virginia by a family of educators, he discovered a love for computers early on and turned that passion into a career helping students and staff use technology in meaningful, approachable ways.

His vision for SDoL is that technology should remove barriers, not create them.

One of the first projects under his leadership is the launch of a student-run help desk at McCaskey High School. For Griscom, it’s about more than fixing devices. It’s about giving students real-world experience, building confidence, and creating new opportunities to grow.

Griscom steps into this role with deep respect for the foundation laid by longtime technology director Terry Tippett. While honoring that legacy, he brings a fresh perspective one rooted in collaboration, reflection, and the idea that sometimes the best use of technology is knowing when to step back and let creativity lead.

As the district continues to move forward with its strategic priorities, Griscom’s leadership will play a key role in ensuring that SDoL remains a place where innovation is driven by inclusion, responsiveness, and a deep understanding of the communities it serves.
